Timeline

2 Months

Nestled in the heart of Creston, British Columbia, Grace Christian Radio (GCR) was founded in 2021 by Pastor David Ripley, recognizing the need for a platform where believers and non-believers could encounter the transformative power of the Word. More than just a radio station, GCR is a sanctuary where listeners immerse themselves in real-life Christian testimonies, meaningful discussions, and uplifting Christian music.

CHALLENGE

Grace Christian Radio approached me with the task of developing a brand identity that would reflect its mission, resonate with its audience, and honour its connection to Grace Christian Fellowship, Pastor Ripley’s home church. The goal was to establish a cohesive brand presence to position the station as a beacon of faith and community in Creston.

SOLUTION

Discover Phase and Visual Identity Development

I conducted extensive research into the unique identity and objectives of GCR, as well as the history and values of Grace Christian Fellowship. This foundational understanding guided my approach to crafting a brand identity that seamlessly integrated the values and spirit of both entities.

Central to the branding effort was the creation of a distinctive logo that served as a visual embodiment of Grace Christian Radio’s connection to Grace Christian Fellowship. Drawing inspiration from symbols and imagery associated with Christianity, as well as the church’s own branding, I developed a logo mark that evoked a sense of reverence, unity, and spiritual connection.

After a few rounds of revisions, Pastor Ripley finally signed off on the final look of the brand.

Brand Guidelines

I developed a comprehensive set of brand guidelines that outlined the station’s visual identity system, ensuring consistency across all brand touchpoints. By harmonizing colour palettes, typography, and imagery with the church’s aesthetic, I created a cohesive brand presence that reflected the station’s roots.

I also worked closely with Pastory Ripley to craft key messaging and storytelling elements that articulated GCR’s mission, vision and unique values, drawing on the rich heritage and community spirit of Grace Christian Fellowship. Through all of these brand updates, we aimed to forge emotional connections with audiences and inspire engagement and loyalty.

Results

The journey to develop Grace Christian Radio’s brand identity was a testament to the power of collaboration and creativity in capturing the essence and mission of a faith-based organization. By drawing on the rich heritage and values of Grace Christian Fellowship, I created a brand identity that not only reflected the station’s roots, but also resonated with its audiences, inspiring connection, engagement, and loyalty.
